Kwacha is the basic unit of currency of Zambia. The currency ISO code of Kwacha is ZMK.

The official exchange rate of Kwacha is determined in the interbank market. IMF members accepting the obligations of Article VIII undertake to refrain from imposing restrictions on the making of payments and transfers for current international transactions, or from engaging in discriminatory currency arrangements or multiple currency practices without IMF approval. The exchange rate system of Zambia is one of the most liberal systems in Africa.
