Tala is the basic unit of currency of SAMOA. The currency ISO code of Tala is WST.

Tala is pegged to a representative basket of currencies comprising the main trading partners. The real exchange rate remains stable over the last 3-4 years. A small devaluation of the Tala (by 1.5%) against its basket of currency was decided in November 2001, in response to the Tala's appreciation against Australia and New Zealand Dollars.
