New Taiwan Dollar is the basic unit of currency of Taiwan. The currency ISO code of New Taiwan Dollar is TWD.

Despite the continuous weakening of the USD, the exchange rate between the two currencies was maintained between 33 and 35 TWD/USD since 2000.

The Taiwan Central Bank decided to float its currency on October 17, 1997,but it can intervene on the market to limit excessive fluctuation.
