Jordanian Dinar is the basic unit of currency of Jordan. The currency ISO code of Jordanian Dinar is JOD.

Jordanian Dinar is officially pegged to the SDR, but in practice, it has been pegged to the US dollar since November, 1995.

When the 1996 budget was introduced on December 6, 1995, the Ministry of Finance announced the alteration of the dinar determination mode. It is now pegged to the USD at the fixed exchange rate of JOD 0.7080 per dollar. It was previously pegged to a basket of 5 currencies (USD, DEM, FRF, GMP, YEN), 50% of which was represented by the USD.
